Marshall Cohen

Founder

A Pittsburgh native and graduate of the Pittsburgh Public Schools, is our festival founder. Marshall moved back to Pittsburgh in 2018 and was surprised there was no free, community-wide, book festival. Wanting Pittsburgh to have a festival, he approached authors, poets, booksellers, publishers, libraries, government officials and potential sponsors. Marshall is a retired public affairs executive with over 50 years experience in advocacy, communications, and legislative and public policy strategies. He has attended many book festivals throughout the United States.
